When you 3D print you are spending prototype dollars. Money that will never translate to production budgets.

SUPERMOLD accelerates your timeline by using your prototype dollars on making a production mold designed to take advantage of production efficiencies.

SUPERMOLD uses 103 tool steel to provide a production mold that is guaranteed for as long as you need parts. Our full tool shop allows quick turnaround to put parts in your hand when needed, at a cost effective price point.

Reduce costs and lead times for custom injection molds to process thermoplastic or metal components.

At ASH Industries we are always looking for ways to help you get real parts into your hands rather than waste money on 3D printing

(Parts must have a maximum 3/16” wall thickness, +-0.005” (0.127mm) tolerances and not have any undercuts. The molds must be “open & shut”).

*Limitations: Parts must have a maximum 3/16” wall thickness, +-0.005” (0.127mm) tolerances and not have any undercuts. The molds must be “open & shut”.  See ASH for exceptions to the configuration limitations.  If you need a more customized spec, please contact us.  The price(s) above does not include plastic, MIM, or silicone materials.  MIM lead times will be longer to account for sintering.  In order to give the customer as much flexibility as possible, ASH Industries encourages customers to pick a material ideal to meet customer requirements. Customer has the option of providing their own plastic.  Further information will be needed for estimating customer manufacturing costs that includes materials. Please contact ASH Industries if you have any concerns or questions.

In manufacturing, all three terms - short run, low volume, and prototype - are used to describe production quantities, but with slightly different nuances:

  • Short Run: This term emphasizes the time aspect of production. A short run typically refers to a smaller than usual production batch that needs to be completed quickly. This could be to meet a sudden surge in demand, fulfill a pilot order, or bridge a gap in production while waiting for larger batches.

  • Low Volume: This term focuses on the quantity of parts being produced. Low volume refers to a relatively small number of parts compared to typical production runs for that particular product. It doesn't necessarily imply a tight deadline, although it could be the case.

  • Prototype: This refers to a first or early example of a product created to test its design, functionality, and performance. Prototypes are typically produced in very small quantities, often just one or a few, and are not intended for final use or sale.

  • Yes, ASH can help you manufacture your parts in low volume. We can even 3D print your first prototypes. When you want to have less than 1000 but don't want to pay for full production runs we have a flat rate low volume program called SUPERMOLD.  This can have many benefits, including a faster time to market and a low initial investment but still allow you to produce high-quality parts.

  • Of course NDA's are necessary to protect your IP.  We value privacy and confidentiality and that is one of your main reasons for making parts in the USA. NDA's are enforceable here unlike sourcing overseas.  Confidentiality is one of the most important factors in choosing a new molding supplier.

  • We are ISO 9001 compliant and  ISO 13485 with a ISO Class 7 medical cleanroom.

  • Yes we do, besides our founder graduating from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in 6-1, Electrical Engineering-Hardware, we also have a biomedical engineer, mechanical engineers and other manufacturing engineers on staff to help you think smarter to save money.
